This 10-episode series, also executive produced by <strong>David Mart\u00ednez, David Cotarelo<\/strong> and <strong>\u00c1ngela Agudo<\/strong> and to be streamed exclusively on Prime Video in the United States, Latin America and Spain, will star <strong>Miguel Bernardeau<\/strong> (<em>\u00c9lite<\/em>) and <strong>Renata Notni<\/strong> (<em>La Venganza de las Juanas<\/em>), who will respectively play the landowner Diego de la Vega \u2014 and the main character's alter ego, the hero of common folk \u2014 and Lolita M\u00e1rquez. <strong>Javier Quintas<\/strong> (<em>La casa de papel<\/em>, <em>Sky Rojo<\/em>) and <strong>Miguel \u00c1ngel Vivas<\/strong> (<em>Vis a vis: El Oasis<\/em>, <em>Sin permiso<\/em>) co-direct this international blockbuster created and written by <strong>Carlos Portela<\/strong> (<em>Hierro, Velvet Colecci\u00f3n<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p><em>\"When Andy, Jes\u00fas and Sergio asked us to make <\/em>Zorro<em>, and John Gertz decided to get on board, we faced the honor and responsibility of taking the most important Hispanic-American hero of all time and adapting him for a new generation. For this we have been fortunate to have Prime Video, the best possible partner, and a luxury cast and the best creative and production team in the industry,\" <\/em>said <strong>David Mart\u00ednez<\/strong>, Head of Fiction at <strong>Secuoya Studios<\/strong> and an executive producer of the series.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Zorro<\/em><\/strong>, created and written by <strong>Carlos Portela<\/strong> and co-directed by <strong>Javier Quintas<\/strong> and <strong>Miguel \u00c1ngel Vivas<\/strong>, is the <strong>first major global IP developed by the Spanish-language content studio<\/strong>. The series is an updated version of the contemporary hero, a symbol of justice and a defender of the oppressed, and a new beginning for an ancestral archetype that has taken on different identities throughout the centuries. The production, scheduled to be shot on location in the Canary Islands, embodies the diversity of an emerging world where different races try to coexist.<\/p>\n<p>Women also play an essential role in this story. <strong>The female characters are empowered women ahead of their time, who will stand up to the masked hero or act as confidants <\/strong>depending on their own interests.<\/p>\n<p>Love and hate will be a guiding theme in the emotional spiral that Zorro will experience throughout the plot. Romantic relationships will span the hero\u2019s youth to the more complex dilemmas of adulthood. <strong>Love affairs and heartbreaks will shape the character arc and reflect a type of masculinity that shuns clich\u00e9<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Besides his sense of justice, Diego de la Vega has his own personal battle to become Zorro: to discover his father's murderer. This life purpose will make him stop at nothing and no one to discover his identity, <strong>in a tough journey in which, in addition to facing his friends and enemies, he will unmask family secrets that will change his destiny forever. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The hero of this exciting adventure will be played by the young Valencian actor <strong>Miguel Bernardeau<\/strong>. Having trained in the Dramatic Arts in the United States, he began his acting career in the film <em>Es por tu bien<\/em> (Carlos Ther\u00f3n). Known internationally for his role as Guzm\u00e1n in the Netflix series <em>\u00c9lite<\/em>, Bernardeau recently premiered the series <em>Todo lo otro<\/em> (HBO Max), while <em>1899<\/em>, the new production from the creators of <em>Dark<\/em> (Netflix), and <em>La \u00daltima<\/em> on Disney+ are pending release. On the big screen, he acted under the direction of Gracia Querejeta in <em>Ola de cr\u00edmenes<\/em> and Javier Marco in <em>Josefina<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The Mexican star <strong>Renata Notni<\/strong> will play Lolita M\u00e1rquez, the hero's childhood sweetheart. Renata has become one of the most important young stars in Mexico, with roles in more than 15 projects in film, theater and television, including the series <em>El Drag\u00f3n<\/em> (2019-2020) and recently <em>La Venganza de las Juanas<\/em> (2021), a successful adaptation of the series <em>Las Juanas<\/em> by Bernardo Romero, produced by
