\u00c1lamo<\/strong> Producciones Audiovisuales<\/strong>, partner to Secuoya Studios<\/strong>, in collaboration with the distributor A Contracorriente Films,<\/strong> have completed shooting \u2018Invasion\u2019<\/strong>, an epic drama and sixth film from David Mart\u00edn-Porras. The Salamancan director has finished filming his second adaptation of a Guillem Clua<\/strong> play, together with Eduardo Campoy<\/strong>, after \u2018Skin in Flames\u2019<\/strong>, striking a masterful balance.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have managed to create a unique atmosphere that will transport viewers to a surprising universe. The photography of Martin Rosete and art of Eva Landaburu have been key ingredients, but the main course has been the performances\u201d, asserts David Mart\u00edn-Porras<\/strong>. \u201cThe actors have created highly complex characters that will thrill viewers. To do this, we ran intense rehearsal sessions and a lot of prior preparation work. The chemistry created in each of the relationships is hypnotic\u201d, promises the filmmaker.<\/em><\/p>\n

Shooting began last November on the island of Tenerife<\/strong> and took three weeks of hard work, effort and emotion to complete. \u201cIt is a well-crafted script, but a complicated one to transfer to the screen, both because of the genre (science fiction) and the final twist that changes the whole way you see the film\u201d<\/em>, underlines the director.<\/p>\n

David Martin-Porras\u2019<\/strong> directorial career has brought him awards, nominations and endless professional successes. His work has been selected for over 100 international festivals, has received over 60 awards and a Goya nomination for Best Short Film in 2016 for \u2018Inside the Box\u2019<\/strong>. Among his productions are \u2018De Ida y vuelta\u2019<\/strong>, \u2018La viuda\u2019<\/strong>, \u2018The Chain\u2019<\/strong> and \u2018Skin in Flames\u2019<\/strong>, a collaboration with Secuoya Studios<\/strong>. Also just out on Netflix is \u2018Smiley\u2019<\/strong>, a series created by Guillem Clua<\/strong>. Porras is one of the founding members of the production company LA PANDA PRODUCTIONS<\/strong> and teaches film direction at UCLA Extension and the New York Film Academy.<\/p>\n

The protagonist of the film is Mar\u00eda Ad\u00e1nez<\/strong> (\u2018Mirror, Mirror\u2019) and includes performances by other well-known faces, like \u00c1lvaro Rico<\/strong> (\u2018Elite\u2019), Claudia Salas<\/strong> (\u2018La Ruta\u2019), Fran Berenguer<\/strong> (\u2018Culpa m\u00eda\u2019), Sof\u00eda Oria<\/strong> (\u2018Mom or Dad\u2019), Nourdin Bat\u00e1n<\/strong> (\u2018Todos los nombres de Dios), Marga Arnau<\/strong> (\u2018Hierro\u2019), Carlos Fuentes<\/strong> (\u2018Antarctica\u2019) and Andr\u00e9s Gertr\u00fadix<\/strong> (\u2018American Star\u2019).<\/p>\n

\u2018Invasion\u2019<\/strong> is Eduardo Campoy\u2019s<\/strong> twelfth production at the helm of \u00c1lamo Producciones Audiovisuales<\/strong>, partner to Secuoya Studios<\/strong> in the development of film projects. Among his best known titles are \u2018The Best Summer of My Life\u2019<\/strong>, distributed by A Contracorriente Films, \u2018Litus\u2019<\/strong>, based on the play by Marta Buchaca or \u2018The Wedding Unplanner\u2019<\/strong>, starring Bel\u00e9n Cuesta.<\/strong> He has also produced the series \u2018Supernormal\u2019<\/strong>, whose second season comes out on 26 January, \u2018Mom or Dad\u2019<\/strong> and \u2018Skin in Flames\u2019<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u2018Invasion\u2019<\/strong> tells the story of an alien invasion of planet Earth, during which two prisoners on opposing sides are shut inside a cell together, three soldiers from the Spanish army are holed up in a factory and two scientists - a husband and wife - and an alien prisoner must learn to trust in the enemy to be able to survive the longest night of their lives.<\/p>\n

The film advocates love as the only way out of any conflict, inviting us to see the other as an equal and trust in them enough to show them our weaknesses.
