A recently divorced couple, her current boyfriend, and a missing teenage girl are at the heart of 'Padres'<\/strong>, the latest production from Secuoya Studios, \u00c1lamo Producciones, and A Contracorriente Films. The film is set to premiere in theaters on December 21 and held its pre-screening last Wednesday, February 12, at the Palacio de la Prensa in Madrid.<\/p>\n

Fernando Cayo<\/strong> ('Money Heist'), Natalia Verbeke<\/strong> ('Everybody Lies'), and Carlos Fuentes<\/strong> ('Invasion'), the stars of this gripping story, joined producer Eduardo Campoy<\/strong> and much of the film's team at the premiere. The event brought together hundreds of attendees at the iconic Madrid theater to enjoy this story directed by Jos\u00e9 \u00c1ngel Bohollo<\/strong> ('Ci\u00e9naga').<\/p>\n

The Cordoban filmmaker was unable to attend the film's pre-screening due to a recent transplant surgery. However, his daughter, Alejandra Bohollo<\/strong>\u2014who was also part of the production\u2014was present at the event and delivered a speech on behalf of the director. \"You are the reason this film exists. Thank you, Eduardo, for trusting me and giving us this wonderful production. To my team, for giving it their all and doing it like no one else. To my incredible actors, for being so brilliant and making everything seem effortless\u2014this film belongs to all of you<\/em>\", she expressed.<\/p>\n

In his message, the filmmaker regretted not being able to attend the pre-screening: \"A cancer diagnosis\u2014unexpected and untimely, as it often is\u2014put my life and my projects on hold a few months ago. Fortunately, last week, I underwent a liver transplant, a procedure that has given me a second chance at life. Today, it allows me to reclaim my future, to keep dreaming, and to continue making films. I hope the story you're about to watch captivates you from the very start, just as the script did with us, and that you won't be able to take your eyes off the screen until the very end<\/em>\" Bohollo concluded.<\/p>\n

The film\u2019s cast expressed their gratitude to the director for his work and for the exceptional script they had the honor of bringing to life on screen. \"It's a privilege to see a full theater\u2014I hope you all enjoy it<\/em>\", said Carlos Fuentes to the audience. His co-star, Fernando Cayo, added a heartfelt message of appreciation to those who support Spanish cinema: \"Thank you all for watching Spanish films.\"<\/p>\n

Produced by Secuoya Studios, \u00c1lamo Producciones Audiovisuales, and A Contracorriente Films<\/strong>\u2014the film\u2019s distributor\u2014'Padres' <\/strong>marks Eduardo Campoy\u2019s fifteenth film with \u00c1lamo Producciones Audiovisuales. Among his latest productions, the producer has adapted Guillem Clua\u2019s 'La Bandera'<\/strong>, starring Imanol Arias, Aitor Luna, Miquel Fern\u00e1ndez, <\/strong>and Ana \u00c1lvarez<\/strong>, as well as 'Invasion'<\/strong>, his second collaboration with David Mart\u00edn-Porras.
