Writing a script takes time, creativity, and concentration. \"Writing a script isn\u2019t easy; it can take you months or even years<\/em>\" says actor Fernando Cayo<\/strong>, recognized in the film, television, and theater industries with dozens of titles to his name, and starring in \u2018Padres\u2019<\/strong>, the latest release in theaters from Secuoya Studios<\/strong> and \u00c1lamo Producciones Audiovisuales<\/strong>, in collaboration with A Contracorriente Films<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The story of \u2018Padres\u2019<\/strong> transports the viewer to a world of reflection, where anyone can relate: the uncertainty of not knowing where a young teenager, who went to a festival on the coast for the weekend, is. It\u2019s a story told from the eyes of her parents, a recently divorced couple, torn between the desire to find their daughter and the need to discover a culprit.<\/p>\n

The Script: a direct path to a great story<\/h6>\n

Written by Jos\u00e9 \u00c1ngel Bohollo<\/strong>, the script of this newly released film has left no one indifferent. Not even the lead actors, Natalia Verbeke<\/strong> (\u2018Todos mienten\u2019<\/strong>), Fernando Cayo<\/strong> (\u2018La casa de papel\u2019<\/strong>), and Carlos Fuentes<\/strong> (\u2018Invasi\u00f3n\u2019<\/strong>), who have been fully involved with the project from the very beginning. \"It\u2019s a wonderful film. You don\u2019t always have the luck to receive a script that\u2019s so well-written and so well-constructed, with such solid characters<\/em>\" says Verbeke<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The film revolves around three main characters: the couple (played by Natalia Verbeke<\/strong> and Fernando Cayo<\/strong>) and her current boyfriend (Carlos Fuentes<\/strong>). A love triangle carefully prepared hand-in-hand with the director, whose constant presence guided the film to its best destination. \"Rehearsals were very important because we had to manage how far to take the emotion at each moment, and for that, Jos\u00e9 \u00c1ngel\u2019s<\/strong> perspective, that external view of what you\u2019re feeling as an actor, was essential<\/em>\", recalls the lead actress.<\/p>\n

An external perspective that has paid off in the creation of well-crafted characters whose message, as Cayo<\/strong> highlights, is one of the main pillars of the film: \"It\u2019s a very delicate story; you have to be very careful with what you offer emotionally, the information your character provides, and the opinions they have about the other. Everything has to be very measured and calibrated<\/em>\".<\/p>\n

For his part, Carlos Fuentes<\/strong>\u2019 character evolved over time: \"It was initially going to be in a video call, but we decided to add that character and film it with cameras. I had the chance to rehearse with Natalia<\/strong> and build the character exactly as Bohollo<\/strong> wanted. It was a pleasure to construct and fine-tune the character, adding the nuances that the director required<\/em>\".<\/p>\n

Director Jos\u00e9 \u00c1ngel Bohollo<\/strong>, also the film\u2019s writer, has worked hand-in-hand with producer Eduardo Campoy<\/strong>, both with decades of experience in the Spanish film industry. Their dedicated and meticulously prepared work methodology has directly translated into the production's result: \"They are two very important pieces, always present, feeding that little creature called shooting. \u2018Padres\u2019<\/strong> is made with a lot of love, and you can see it directly reflected in the film<\/em>\" Cayo<\/strong> emphasizes.<\/p>\n
