Secuoya Studios to participate in Iberseries & Platino Industria 2026
Secuoya Studios LATAM Spotlight, 'Local Content with Global Ambition' set for Thursday, September 30, at Sala Azcona in Matadero Madrid
Secuoya Studios strengthens its presence at Iberseries & Platino Industria with its participation in the sixth edition of the event, taking place September 29–October 2 at Matadero Madrid. Organized by Fundación Secuoya and EGEDA, in collaboration with FIPCA and with the support of Madrid Film Office and Madrid Film Region, the event brings together leading professionals from the audiovisual industry. Secuoya Studios will take part through the various panels, workshops, and activities organized as part of the market.
The sixth edition of Iberseries & Platino Industria will feature the studio with “Spotlight: Secuoya Studios LATAM: Local Content with Global Ambition.” The session will highlight the opportunities and challenges facing the Latin American audiovisual market, through the perspective, positioning, and structure of Secuoya Studios LATAM. The studio will also participate through Alfredo Bermúdez de Castro, Chief Operating Officer, who will join the panel “Breaking Rules: The Coproduction Map”; an exclusive buyers’ screening of the first episode of El laberinto de las mariposas; and José María Caro’s participation in the panel “Only Producers in the Building: Challenges as a Catalyst for Change.”
Secuoya Studios: Content in Latin America
On the third day of the market, the studio will bring together professionals interested in production in Latin America for the spotlight session “Secuoya Studios: Local Content with Global Ambition.” The event will reinforce the studio’s commitment to the Ibero-American market, highlighting local talent, storytelling quality, and the global ambition of its stories. It will also provide an opportunity to showcase the studio’s projects in the region.
The session will be moderated by TelevisaUnivision journalist Omar Reyes and will feature Daniel Hernández Bocanegra, General Manager of Secuoya Content Group in Latin America; Carla Gómez, Head of Development and Executive Producer at Secuoya Studios; Pierluigi Gazzolo, Founder and Strategic Advisor at Farniente Media; and Mónica Aguirre, Founder of Black Sheep Productions.
The spotlight will take place on Thursday, October 1, at 10:00 a.m. in Sala Azcona (Cineteca).
Iberscreening: El laberinto de las mariposas
Iberseries & Platino Industria’s program will also feature Iberscreening Chapter One: El laberinto de las mariposas on Wednesday, September 30, at 10:30 a.m. in Sala Borau (Cineteca). The screening will be presented by Andrés Zamora, Global Distribution Director at Secuoya Studios, and Executive Producer Eduardo Galdo.
This exclusive event for buyers will feature a screening of the first episode of El laberinto de las mariposas, one of Secuoya Studios’ latest fiction projects. Starring Can Yaman, María de Nati, Andrea Duro, and Félix Gómez, the series immerses viewers in a story of action and romance.
The Studio on the Coproduction Map
The day will continue with Alfredo Bermúdez de Castro, Chief Operating Officer at Secuoya Studios, participating as a speaker in the panel “Breaking Rules: The Coproduction Map.” Scheduled for Wednesday, September 30, at 11:15 a.m. in Sala Plató (Cineteca), the session will bring together leading global market executives to explore the pathways and partnerships that can turn an idea into a financially viable production without compromising its narrative identity.
Alfredo Bermúdez de Castro will be joined by industry professionals Iris Bucher (Quad Drama), Peter Lohner (Beta Film), José Pastor (RTVE), Nathalie Perus (Atlantique Productions), and Femke Wolting (Submarine), with journalist Georg Szalai (The Hollywood Reporter) serving as moderator.
Challenges Facing Producers in the Audiovisual Industry
The third day of the market will also feature the conference “Only Producers in the Building: Challenges as a Catalyst for Change,” starting at 12:00 p.m. in the Auditorium (Casa del Lector). The session will offer first-hand insights, advice, stories, and ideas from José María Caro, CCO of Secuoya Studios; Mónica Lozano, CEO of Alebrije Cine y Video; and Axel Kuschevatzky, CEO of Infinity Hill.
Secuoya Studios’ participation in Iberseries & Platino Industria dates back to the creation of the Ibero-American market in 2021. Since the inaugural edition, the Spanish studio has been an active participant, demonstrating its support for the audiovisual industry and for the professionals and organizations that make up the sector through a range of activities, industry expertise, and project presentations to an industry experiencing continued growth.
