Synopsis

History books tell us that Christopher Columbus sighted American land on October 12, 1492. They also tell us that shortly after he arrived at the island of Hispaniola. On Christmas Day, he ordered a return voyage but the Santa María wrecked. Those same books recount how Columbus had to leave 39 men on the island, sheltered in the first Western building in America: the fort of La Navidad . And that almost a year later, in October 1493, when Columbus returned to meet them, the fort was destroyed and none of the men were alive. But the history studied in textbooks is just a set of narratives, events strung together to tell a story that often hides many buried lives, adventures, loves, and revenges. Forgotten forever. Or maybe not. Maybe there is a chance to revive the dead so they can tell us who they were. That is our intention. We acknowledge it is ambitious, yes, but also beautiful.
