Secuoya Studios celebrates completion of filming for its latest feature film: 'Coartadas'. A romantic comedy directed by Martín Cuervo (Under a Volcano), 'Coartadas' will hit theaters on November 28.

'Coartadas' tells the story of a young entrepreneur who runs a company that fabricates lies and alibis to help clients escape sticky situations. A tale filled with humor and romance, director Martín Cuervo describes it as “a story full of emotions and feelings — and a whole lot of fun.”

Produced by Buendía Estudios Canarias, Secuoya Studios, Beta Fiction Spain, and Álamo Producciones, with the participation of Atresmedia and Movistar Plus+, the screenplay was written by Curro Velázquez and Benjamín Herranz.

The film stars Jaime Lorente ('Money Heist') and Adriana Torrebejano ('Under a Volcano'), joined by a hilarious supporting cast that includes Leo Harlem ('Spy Time'), Llum Barrera ('Supernormal'), Antón Lofer ('The Best Summer of My Life'), Ana Jara ('Who’s Who?'), and Paula Prendes ('Crossroads'), with special appearances by Salva Reina ('How Much Time Do I Have Left?') and Mariam Hernández ('Everybody Does It').

Filming took place entirely on the island of Tenerife, with various locations across the island serving as the backdrop for 'Coartadas'. Shooting began on March 5 and wrapped after six weeks of production.

What Can We Expect from 'Coartadas'?

The film follows Miguel, the owner of Coartadas a company that specializes in crafting fake alibis for clients looking to cheat on their partners or dodge uncomfortable situations. After completing a particularly strange job that involved driving a hearse, Miguel accidentally hits a woman named Noelia — not a serious injury, just a broken finger. They meet at the hospital, sparks fly, and they begin dating. As their relationship blossoms, Noelia reveals she’s a judge who despises liars and fraud. To impress her, Miguel pretends to run a funeral home instead of confessing his real line of work. Trouble arises when Miguel is introduced to Noelia’s family — and discovers her father is one of his clients, who once hired him to cover up an affair.
