A production by the Unscripted division of Secuoya Studios in collaboration with the Princess of Girona Foundation
On June 15, Movistar Plus+ premiered 'Generación docentes', a feature-length documentary produced by Secuoya Studios in collaboration with the Princess of Girona Foundation. Directed by Daniel San Román, the project invites viewers to discover the first professional experience of five future teachers in various rural schools across Aragón, Castilla y León, Extremadura, and Galicia.
In an intimate and emotional way, the film follows the journeys of Noa Dahlander, Lleir Santamarta, Nerea González, Marina Moral, and Eire Borruey—Education students who immersed themselves in a new educational environment, far from urban life and focused on the essence of teaching in small communities. It’s a unique educational experience that transformed their own understanding of their vocation.
With executive production by Paolo Nocetti, Sergio Lizárraga, and Guillermo Ríos, 'Generación docentes' adopts a factual narrative style and a close, personal visual approach, offering an honest portrayal of the daily lives of its five protagonists. This format, combined with personal interviews, conveys to the audience the emotions, uncertainties, and lessons that emerged throughout their experience.
The documentary is also a tribute to the silent yet essential work of rural schools—their teachers, principals, and students. It shows how education adapts to its environment and its people, embracing a philosophy and teaching style in close connection with nature, community rhythms, and the ways of interacting unique to rural areas.
