'Lola, Lolita, Lolaza', nominated for Best Animated Short Film at the Goya Awards 2025

Produced by Secuoya Studios, Mafalda Entertainment and Abano Producións.

The short film 'Lola, Lolita, Lolaza' has been nominated for the Goya Awards 2025 as Best Animated Short Film. Mabel Lozano's project, produced by Secuoya Studios, Mafalda Entertainment and Abano Producións, will be part of the 39th edition of the awards, to be held on February 8th in Granada.

The play, which deals with breast cancer in a realistic and close way, is narrated by Mabel Lozano herself. Through a first-person perspective and a humorous tone, 'Lola, Lolita, Lolaza' exposes what is often not told about this disease. Its unique approach has earned it a selection in several international festivals, including the prestigious San Sebastian Festival.

A successful track record at national and international festivals

Since its premiere at the Guadalajara International Film Festival (Mexico), the short film has won over audiences and juries at more than a dozen national and international festivals. Among the most outstanding are the San Sebastian Film Festival, the Almeria International Film Festival and the Huelva Cine Iberoamericano, where it has consolidated its position as one of the most important documentaries of the season.

The production, which tells the story of millions of women, with or without "lolas", and their experiences with breast cancer, won the Best Documentary Short Film Award at the Cerdanya Film Festival, reaffirming its emotional impact and the relevance of its message. In addition, its presentation in Madrid was a great success, with a warm welcome and a subsequent talk on breast cancer prevention, sexuality and desire, with the participation of Lozano's friends and colleagues, such as Loles León, Miriam Díaz Aroca, Susanna Griso and Rosi de Palma.
