'Matices' stars in Berlinale Series Market's Spanish Thrillers Showcase

The panel will take place on February 17 and will be attended by María García-Castrillón (Secuoya Studios), Sergio Cánovas (StellarMedia) and Christian Gockel (Beta Film)

Secuoya Studios will travel to Berlin to participate in the new edition of the Berlinale Series Market. Organized by the European Film Market, Berlinale Co-Production Market and Berlinale Talents, this meeting will be held from February 16-19 and will bring together leading industry professionals. Through conferences, showcases, keynotes and thematic panels, the most current trends that are shaping the future of the audiovisual industry will be analyzed.

The series 'Matices', produced by Secuoya Studios together with StellarMedia, SkyShowtime and Beta Film, will star in the Spanish Thrillers Showcase, to be held on February 17 in the CinemaxX 1 multi-hall at Potsdamer Platz in Berlin.

Iberseries & Platino Industria and Audiovisual from Spain present this initiative that will address the international success of Spanish thrillers, a genre that deals with current social issues and international repercussions.

The studio will be joined by María García-Castrillón, director of co-productions at Secuoya Studios; Sergio Cánovas, showrunner and director; and Christian Gockel, EVP Acquisitions & Sales and New media at Beta Film will lead the showcase to talk about 'Matices'. The session will be moderated by John Hopewell, International Features Editor at Variety, and will also feature Cristian Liarte (Mediacrest) and José Pastor (RTVE) to talk about one of their latest titles, 'Asuntos Internos'.

The psychological thriller 'Matices', created by Sergio Cánovas, Alex Meriweather and Javier Naya, and directed by Cánovas, will soon arrive exclusively on SkyShowtime. The eight-episode series features a top-notch cast headed by Maxi Iglesias, Miriam Giovanelli, Juana Acosta, Hovik Keuchkerian, Fariba Sheikhan, Eusebio Poncela, Enrique Arce, Raúl Prieto and Elsa Pataky.

This showcase also takes place within the agreement established between Iberseries & Platino Industria and Berlinale Series Market, constituting a milestone between the cooperation between the European Film Market and the main international meeting for professionals linked to the Ibero-American audiovisual industry, which will take place its fifth edition from September 30 to October 3, 2025 in Matadero Madrid.
