Secuoya Studios goes to Lille with 'The Lottery Ticket'

María García Castrillón, director of Co-Productions at the studio, and screenwriter Carlos Vila present this exciting story at the Co-Pro Pitching Sessions of the international market

Secuoya Studios has traveled to Lille (France) to attend the new edition of Series Mania, one of the most important markets in the international content industry, taking place from March 21 to 28. The Spanish studio participated in the event by presenting 'The Lottery Ticket' at the Co-Pro Pitching Sessions held on the morning of March 25.

María García Castrillón, director of Co-Productions at Secuoya Studios, and screenwriter Carlos Vila ('Los misterios de Laura') were in charge of presenting 'The Lottery Ticket' to the industry, along with 14 other finalist projects from over 400 proposals from 72 different countries, being the only Spanish project in the selection.

"'The Lottery Ticket' is a story about identity. About who we think we are, who we really are, and who we want to be" explained María García Castrillón.

'The Lottery Ticket' is an ambitious dramedy consisting of six 50-minute episodes written by screenwriter Carlos Vila. It tells the story of Julia, a woman recently diagnosed with terminal cancer, who decides to celebrate her 50th birthday by gathering a select group of people from her past and present. The surprise comes when a winning lottery ticket appears, sparking an emotional battle that will change the fate of everyone involved.

"It may sound complicated, but it’s actually quite simple: take a few people, lock them in a room, and give them something to fight for. It’s a classic. It’s a lottery ticket" emphasizes Carlos Vila.

Secuoya Studios’ presence at Series Mania solidifies the company’s strategic positioning in the global market. In this regard, Brendan Fitzgerald, CEO of the studio, participated in the roundtable "Creating an Original IP: A Sustainable Model for Producers," and the studio has an exclusive space within the Grand Palais for meetings with industry partners and to showcase its production catalog.
