ASSISTANT DIRECTOR FOR SECUOYA STUDIOS UNSCRIPTED

Sergio Lizarraga is assistant director of Secuoya Studios’ informative programmes and documentaries department.

He is head of development for unscripted projects and executive producer for many of these productions. He is specialized in the creation, adaptation, sale and launch of entertainment formats, as well as research into audiences, trends and markets. He is also in charge of purchasing international formats.

After more than a decade at Secuoya Content Group, Lizarraga has driven the launch of over twenty television shows in all kinds of genres -magazine, game show, reality, humorist, adventure, emotainment, docu-shows…- for major national television channels -TVE’s La1, Antena 3, LaSexta, La2, D-Max, Disney Channel, Canal Sur, ETB2, Telemadrid…- He has also participated in the launch of television channels like Ten and Murcia’s regional broadcaster, La7. In addition, he collaborates regularly with Latin America, developing content for the Secuoya LATAM network (Colombia, Chile, Peru and Mexico).

Coordination of Entertainment Spaces

A graduate in Audiovisual Communication at the University of Navarra, Sergio Lizarraga began his professional career in Atresmedia in 2007, with the creation and development of new projects for the Neox and Nova channels. After his work in this role he went on to take over the coordination of content for Atresmedia’s Verte production company. In 2010, Lizarraga made his move to Grupo Secuoya, where he began working as head of R&D for Enminúscula Producciones, and in 2013 was appointed head of R&D, coordinating the group’s entertainment content. Years later he took over the R&D department of Secuoya Studios’ unscripted area, as well as being the executive producer on some of the company’s shows (Cuestión de Tiempo (TVE), Jaja Show (Disney Channel), Lo Siguiente (TVE), El Cambio (ETB), RESET con Xuan Lan; among others. He combines this work with teaching at different universities and audiovisual schools around the country.
