'La celda de los milagros' has positioned itself as one of the most-watched films on Netflix across Latin America, while also achieving strong performance among the platform’s titles in the United States.
Starring Omar Chaparro and Mariana Calderón, the film has captivated audiences across multiple territories during its first week on the platform, reaching No. 1 in countries such as Argentina, Peru, Chile, Colombia and Mexico, and securing a place within the Top 3 in the United States. This success follows its theatrical release last December.
‘La celda de los milagros’ tells the story of the unconditional love between Héctor (Omar Chaparro), a man with a disability, and his daughter Alma (Mariana Calderón). Their lives take an unexpected turn when Héctor is wrongfully imprisoned for a crime he did not commit. A deeply emotional story, the original version became a major phenomenon in South Korea under the title ‘Milagro en la celda nº 7’, later adapted in Turkey, and now brought to Spanish-language audiences under the direction of Ana Lorena Pérez Ríos.
