Secuoya Studios to Present ‘The Lottery Ticket’ at Series Mania Forum 2025 Pitch Sessions

The Spanish studio’s latest project is among the selected titles competing for a €50,000 development award

Secuoya Studios has confirmed its participation in the 15th edition of the Series Mania Festival, taking place from March 21 to 28 in Lille, France. The Spanish studio will present its latest project, ‘The Lottery Ticket’, during the Pitch Sessions at Series Mania Forum.

‘The Lottery Ticket’, written by screenwriter Carlos Vila, has been selected as one of 15 fiction titles competing for the Series Mania Forum development award, which offers a €50,000 prize. The pitching sessions will be held on Tuesday, March 25, as part of the prestigious French festival.

"This year, we have focused on ensuring that the Co-Pro Pitching Sessions truly consider the market viability of the projects. That was our main selection criterion, though not the only one," stated Francesco Capurro, Director of Series Mania Forum, in an interview with Variety. This event provides European television with a key opportunity to continue evolving in response to industry and audience demands. ‘The Lottery Ticket’ will compete against projects from various countries, including Serbia, Ireland, France, Japan, Germany, the United Kingdom, Denmark, and Australia.

‘The Lottery Ticket’

Written by Carlos Vila ('The Mysteries of Laura') and produced by Secuoya Studios, ‘The Lottery Ticket’ is a six-episode, 50-minute drama exploring themes of fate, truth, and ambition. The story follows Julia, a 50-year-old woman who, on the day of her birthday, announces to her loved ones that she has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. She also reunites with the daughter she gave up for adoption in her youth. What was meant to be a celebration quickly turns into chaos when a winning lottery ticket appears—sparking a fierce battle over who should claim it.
