Thriller directed by José Ángel Bohollo and starring Carlos Santos and Esther Acebo
Secuoya Studios, Twin Freaks Studio and A Contracorriente Films announce the start of filming on 'Radicales', a survival thriller directed by José Ángel Bohollo ('Padres').
The film features a cast led by Carlos Santos ('Solos', 'The Man with a Thousand Faces') and Esther Acebo ('Money Heist'), joined by actors Abdelatif Hwidar ('Elite'), Omar Zriri ('La unidad'), Sara Hwidar ('Raqa'), Farah Hamed ('La unidad') and Carlos Fuentes ('Padres').
Producer Eduardo Campoy joins the Murcia-based company Twin Freaks Studio on this feature film—producers of movies such as 'El instinto' (2025) and 'A diente de perro' (2021)—and once again collaborates with A Contracorriente Films, which will also handle distribution.
For José Ángel Bohollo, the film’s director, the story is built around major human themes: “Designed as a chamber psychological thriller—with the action confined to a single setting—the pressure of the kidnapping opens the door to reflections on revenge, heartbreak, marginalization, institutional corruption and the longing to belong.”
'Radicales' tells the story of the reunion between Martín and Tere months after ending their relationship. She has something very important to tell him—he is the father of the baby she is expecting—and they decide to meet at a bar in their town to talk. There they meet the owners of the place—a Pakistani mother and daughter. Suddenly, a van crashes into the front of the building and two men armed with knives burst inside. From that moment on, a desperate fight for survival unfolds among four hostages, as well as a life-or-death confrontation between two sides marked by their beliefs, traditions, egos and, ultimately, by destiny itself, which shapes their lives.
